Mercedes Benz will launch for the first time at the New York Motor Show the ML450 Hybrid version, originally presented in Frankfurt in 2007. Immediately after the official presentation, several problems have delayed the entrance on the market of the “eco” SUV.

Despite all these, the German producer has not dropped at the idea to return with a revised ML450 Hybrid, ready to get as soon as possible in the production. The ML450 uses a new version of the two-mode hybrid system co-developed with BMW, General Motors, and Chrysler.

The environment-friendly version is propelled by an electric motor and a 3.6 liter conventional motor, with a low consumption. The powertrain has a combined output of 335 hp. Also, the hybrid system allows the ML to operate in urban agglomerations only in electric mode.
